InstaCuppa Portable Electric Burr Coffee Grinder for Espresso, Pour Over and French Press, Stainless Steel Conical Burr, USB-C Rechargeable, Doses into 51 mm Portafilter, 25 g Capacity, Black
A portable coffee grinder with a steel burr that doses into your portafilter
The InstaCuppa Portable Electric Burr Coffee Grinder V4 is a cordless, one-button portable coffee grinder with a 420 stainless steel conical burr. It is made for you if you buy whole beans and want them ground fresh, at home, at your desk or on the road. Its grounds chamber seats straight onto a 51 mm espresso portafilter, so your coffee lands in the basket with no dosing cup and no transfer.
It holds 25 g of beans, charges over USB-C in about 90 minutes and runs up to ~20 grinds per charge. One dial, with 11 clicks per turn, takes you from espresso-style and moka at the fine end to pour-over and French press at the coarse end.

Why grind your beans fresh?
Ground coffee loses its aroma fast. Whole bean coffee keeps that flavour locked inside until you grind it, so grinding just before you brew gives you the freshest cup your beans can make.
A burr grinder crushes beans between two cutting surfaces to an even size, instead of chopping them like a blade. Even grounds brew evenly, and that is the whole point of a burr coffee grinder: freshly ground coffee that tastes like the beans you bought.

Grind settings: 11 clicks per turn
The grind dial sits under the grind chamber, so take the clear cup off to reach it. Every full turn of the dial has 11 clicks.
- Finest: turn the dial right (clockwise) to tighten it to 0. This is the finest setting.
- Coarser: from 0, turn the dial left (anticlockwise). Each click makes the grind a little coarser.
- Dial it in: stay near the fine end for espresso-style coffee and moka, go to the middle for pour-over, and go coarse for French press. Brew, taste, then move a click or two.
Which grind size for which brewer?
The moka pot grind size is fine, a touch coarser than espresso-style. Pour-over sits in the middle, about like sea salt. The grind size for French press is the coarsest, so the metal mesh filter holds the grounds back.
Doses straight into a 51 mm portafilter
The grounds chamber seats directly onto a 51 mm espresso portafilter and grinds straight into the basket. No dosing cup, no spoon, no grounds across the counter.
Check your basket size before you buy: it fits 51 mm portafilters only, not 54 mm or 58 mm. Brewing something else? Grind into the clear cup and tip the grounds into your moka pot, pour-over dripper or French press.
How to use it: fill, press, brew
- Fill: twist off the motor top and add up to 25 g of whole beans.
- Press: twist the top back on and press the one button. The motor does the grinding, so there is no crank to turn.
- Brew: dose straight into your 51 mm basket, or empty the clear cup into your brewer.

Easy to clean: comes apart in three
The grinder twists apart into three parts: the motor top, the burr section and the clear cup. Wash by hand only.
- Rinse the burr section and the clear cup under running water, then let them dry fully before you put the grinder back together.
- Wipe the motor top with a dry cloth. Never put it in water.
- Use the cleaning brush from the box to clear grounds from the burr.
- No part of the grinder is dishwasher-safe.

Cordless and USB-C rechargeable
There is no cord to find. Charge it over USB-C and it is full in about 90 minutes, then runs up to ~20 grinds per charge. Four lights on the top cap show how much charge is left.
At 445 g and 17.5 cm tall, this portable coffee grinder slips into a desk drawer or a cabin bag, so your morning grind travels with you.
A 420 stainless steel conical burr
At its core is a 420 stainless steel conical burr, rated for up to 8,000 grinds. The matte black body has a crinkle finish that gives your hand a sure grip, and everything runs from one button on the top cap.

Which InstaCuppa coffee grinder is right for you?
Choose the Portable Burr V4 if you want a steel burr, USB-C power and dosing into a 51 mm basket, wherever you brew. If you want something else, the USB Rechargeable grinder has a ceramic burr for home, office and travel, the Manual Steel Burr grinder needs no power at all, and the Automatic Classic is a countertop grinder for bigger batches at home.
