Everything is packed tight. No part was missing in the units I checked.

First use tip: Boil plain water in the pot once, then pour it out. This clears any factory residue.

How we tested, and what the numbers are

I used one unit at home for 30 days as my only cooking pot. I did not test it with a lab meter.

Where a number is my measurement or math, I say so. Where it comes from the listing, I say that too.

What It Does Well (5 Strengths)

Quick answer: It cooks real meals, the low setting simmers, the trays get used, it is light, and the outside stays cool.

It cooks real meals — I cooked ten dishes in it: rice, dal, eggs, momos, idlis, chai, Maggi, pasta, soup and oats. All of them worked. Our 15 easy multi cooker recipes list has more to try.
Two heat settings matter — The LOW setting lets you simmer dal or keep food warm. The box prints no wattage for LOW, so treat it as a simmer setting.
The trays get used — I used the egg, steamer and idli trays most weeks. In one study, boiled broccoli lost 33% of its vitamin C, while steamed broccoli lost no significant amount (Yuan et al., 2009).
Light enough to carry — The listing puts it at 600 grams. I took it on a weekend trip in a backpack.
The outside stays cool — The body stays cool while the pot cooks. That matters if kids are near the counter.

What It Does Not Do Well (4 Honest Limits)

Quick answer: It is slow for big volumes, small for families, slow on LOW from cold, and it cannot tell when food is done.

600 watts is slow for large volumes — A full 1.2 litres takes about 11 minutes to boil. Water needs 4.186 joules per gram for each degree C. So 1.2 litres from 25 to 100 degrees C needs about 377 kilojoules, and 600 watts gives 600 joules a second. A gas stove is faster, as we explain in can an electric kettle cooker replace a gas stove.
1.2 litres is small for a family — One cup of rice feeds one or two people. A family of four needs two batches.
LOW is very slow to heat — LOW simmers well but heats slowly from cold. Start on HIGH and switch to LOW once the pot boils.

What Does It Cost to Run?

Quick answer: A full 1.2 litre boil uses about 0.11 units of power. At Karnataka's home rate of Rs 5.80 a unit, that is about 64 paise.

One unit of power is 1,000 watts used for one hour, says India's Bureau of Energy Efficiency. A 600 watt pot uses 0.6 units in a full hour.

For the rupee cost, I used Karnataka's 2025-26 home rate of 580 paise a unit from the KERC tariff order. Your state's rate will differ, so swap in your own.

These are upper limits, worked out at the full 600 watts for the whole time.

Steel or Non-Stick Pot?

Quick answer: Pick steel if you want the pot to last longest. Pick non-stick if you cook eggs or sticky food and want easy washing.

The steel pot costs Rs 200 less and has no coating to wear out. The non-stick pot is easier to wash after eggs, Maggi or milk.

Non-stick coatings are made of PTFE. A 2024 study on non-stick cookware notes PTFE stays stable below 260 degrees C.

Boiling and steaming stay near 100 degrees C, far below that. Just never switch the pot on empty, and use the wooden spatula.
