Is a glass water bottle safe for daily use?

Yes. Borosilicate glass is one of the safest materials for drinking water. It is chemically inert — no BPA, no lead, no cadmium, no chemical leaching at any temperature. Unlike plastic, it does not absorb odours or flavours. InstaCuppa glass water bottles are the same type of glass used in laboratory equipment.

Does a glass water bottle break easily?

Borosilicate glass is more durable than regular glass and resists thermal shock (-20°C to 150°C). However, it is still glass and can break if dropped on a hard surface. Every InstaCuppa glass bottle comes with a protective neoprene sleeve that absorbs minor impacts and provides grip. Handle with normal care — the same as any glass drinkware.

Can I put a borosilicate glass bottle in the microwave?

Yes. Borosilicate glass is microwave safe — remove the lid and any metal infuser first. It is also oven safe, freezer safe, and dishwasher safe. You can take it directly from the fridge to the microwave without thermal shock cracking.

What is the difference between borosilicate and regular glass?

Borosilicate glass contains boron trioxide which makes it resistant to thermal shock — it can handle temperature swings from -20°C to 150°C without cracking. Regular soda-lime glass cracks when exposed to sudden temperature changes. Borosilicate is also lighter, more transparent, and stronger. It is the premium glass used in lab equipment and high-end cookware.

Can I brew tea in a glass water bottle?

Yes — if you choose the InstaCuppa glass bottle with infuser (₹1,499-1,599). It has a removable 304 stainless steel fine mesh infuser for brewing loose-leaf green tea, herbal blends, and fruit infusions directly in the bottle. Add tea leaves, pour hot water, steep, remove the infuser, and drink. The regular bottle without infuser (₹1,299) is for plain water and cold beverages only.

How do you clean a glass water bottle?

Rinse with warm soapy water after each use. For deep cleaning, use baking soda and warm water — let it soak for 30 minutes, then brush with a bottle brush. The glass and infuser are dishwasher safe (top rack). Hand wash the neoprene sleeve and any bamboo/silicone lid components. Avoid abrasive scrubbers on the glass. ---
