What Is a Foot Spa? (Pedicure Foot Spa Meaning)
A foot spa is a small tub that holds warm water for your feet. An electric foot spa is also called a pedicure foot spa or a foot bath massager. Most models add bubbles, gentle rollers, and a heater. You soak your feet, relax, and your skin gets soft.
Price in India: a heated foot spa with bubbles and manual rollers costs Rs 2,099 to Rs 2,399 on Amazon.in. One with motor rollers and a timer costs Rs 4,699 to Rs 5,249 (prices checked 27 September 2026). A plain folding tub with no heater costs under Rs 1,500. Most electric models let you set the water from 35 to 48°C.
A pedicure foot spa in India is now an easy home buy. You do not need a salon for a basic soak. Many busy moms keep one near the sofa for evening use.
Q: What does a foot spa do?
It soaks your feet in warm water. This softens skin and helps you relax. Most also add bubbles and rollers.
Q: How long should I soak?
About 10 to 20 minutes is enough. Lifelong's Amazon listing calls 20 minutes a good length. Soaking much longer can dry out your skin.
Q: Does a foot spa include a pedicure?
No. It does the soak part well. You still scrub and trim nails yourself. A salon spa pedicure adds the scrub, nail care and a short massage.
What Are the Benefits of a Foot Spa?
A foot spa gives your feet warm water, light massage, and rest. Warm water makes blood vessels open wider. This brings more blood flow to the feet and helps you unwind. Sleep researchers say warm water sends more blood to the palms and soles.
It also softens hard skin before you scrub. So cracked heels and rough soles get easier to care for.
Sleep link: A warm soak before bed may help you fall asleep faster. A 2019 review of 17 studies looked at warm showers and baths at 40 to 42.5°C. Taken 1 to 2 hours before bed, even for just 10 minutes, they helped people fall asleep sooner — Haghayegh et al., Sleep Medicine Reviews, 2019.
That review tested full baths and showers, not foot soaks. So we cannot promise the same effect from a foot spa alone.
Here is the honest part. A foot spa helps you relax and soften skin. It does not cure foot disease, fix joints, or replace a doctor. Think comfort, not medicine.
How Do You Use a Foot Spa at Home?
Using a foot spa is simple. Fill it, warm it, soak, then dry well. The steps below keep it safe and easy.
- Fill with warm water — keep it warm, not hot. Most machines heat up to 48°C, but you do not need the top setting. The sleep studies above used 40 to 42.5°C for a full bath. If you have diabetes, the NIDDK says 32 to 35°C (90 to 95°F) is safe.
- Test the heat first — dip a hand or elbow in before your feet. Your hand feels heat better than tired feet do. If hot water scalds you, hold the skin under cool running water for 20 minutes (NHS).
- Add salt or a few drops of oil — plain rock salt or mild oil works. Skip strong chemicals.
- Soak for 10 to 15 minutes — sit back and relax. Let the bubbles and rollers do the work.
- Scrub gently — use a pumice stone on soft skin. Do not dig or press hard. For thick skin, see our electric foot callus remover guide.
- Dry your feet fully — wipe between the toes too. Then add a light foot cream.
Clean it after each use: empty the water, wipe the tub, and let it dry. Standing water grows germs fast.
This is not a small risk. In 2000, 110 customers of one California nail salon got boils on their legs from germs in its whirlpool footbaths. Shaving the legs before the pedicure made infection more likely — Winthrop et al., New England Journal of Medicine, 2002. A later check found these germs in 29 of 30 salon footbaths (97%) — Emerging Infectious Diseases, 2005. So dry your tub fully, and do not shave your legs just before a soak.
Is a Foot Spa Safe If You Have Diabetes?
People with diabetes must take extra care with foot soaks. Nerve damage can dull feeling in the feet. So you may not notice water that is too hot, or a small cut.
The U.S. CDC says people with diabetes should check their feet every day. It warns that nerve damage can stop you from noticing a cut, blister or sore. It also says to wash your feet in warm, not hot, water, and not to soak your feet (CDC).
Many diabetes care guides also warn against foot soaks. The NIDDK says not to soak, because the skin gets too dry. Test wash water with a thermometer or your elbow. Foot doctors stress daily checks and quick care for any cut. For foot wounds, they say whirlpools and soaking are not recommended (APMA).
Please talk to your doctor first if you have diabetes, poor blood flow, or numb feet. Keep the water mild, keep soaks short, and check your skin after. When in doubt, ask your doctor before you buy or use one. With diabetes, a quick wash is safer than a long soak.
Which Is the Best Foot Spa for Home in India?
The best foot spa in India for you depends on what you want. Some people want just a warm bubble soak. Others want heat, rollers, and a timer. The table below shows common picks and who each one suits.
We do not sell foot spas, and we did not test these. We compared Amazon.in listings on 27 September 2026 for heat range, rollers, timer and price. Every model below was in stock that day.
| Foot Spa Type | Price on Amazon.in, 27 Sep 2026 | Key Features | Best For | Example models |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic bubble tub (heater, manual rollers) | Rs 2,099–Rs 2,399 | Bubbles, heat up to 48°C, manual rollers | First-time buyers who want a quick soak | Lifelong LLM306 (500 W, Rs 2,099), AGARO Regency (Rs 2,199), JSB HF36 (Rs 2,399) |
| Heated roller spa (motor rollers) | Rs 4,699–Rs 4,999 | Heat 35–48°C, motor rollers, bubbles, timer | Daily use and tired, achy feet | Lifelong LLM279 (Rs 4,699), AGARO Royal (Rs 4,999, timer up to 60 minutes) |
| Deep-basin premium spa | Rs 13,777 | Deep basin, heat, bubbles, removable rollers, pedicure brush | Large feet (up to men's size 14) and people who want set-and-forget heat | Sunbeam Deep Reservoir (imported) |
| Foldable travel spa | Rs 587–Rs 1,475 (no heater); Rs 5,249 (electric) | Collapsible, light, easy storage | Small homes, travel, and simple tubs for soaking feet | IKTU folding tub (Rs 1,475), Lifelong foldable foot spa with remote (Rs 5,249) |
Real brands you can compare on Amazon India include AGARO foot spa machines, Lifelong foot spa baths, and Dr Physio foot spa massagers. On 27 September 2026, Dr Physio's Amazon.in results were dry foot massagers, not water foot spas. Look for a heater, a timer, and a temperature setting. A timer means it shuts off on its own, which is safer. The AGARO Royal also lists earth leakage protection.
Foot spa or foot massager? A foot spa holds warm water. A foot massager kneads dry feet and uses no water. If you want a massager, see our best foot massager guide.
Check for the ISI mark: from 1 October 2026, most makers of household electrical appliances must carry the BIS Standard Mark. The order lists massage appliances by name (BIS Quality Control Order, S.O. 1739(E)). Small and micro makers get until 2027. None of the listings above showed an ISI mark when we checked, so look for it on the box.
You can also browse the full pedicure foot spa range on Amazon to match your budget. Pick one with good reviews and clear safety features.
How Much Does a Foot Spa Cost in India?
A foot spa in India costs about Rs 600 to Rs 14,000 on Amazon.in (27 September 2026). A folding tub with no heater costs Rs 587 to Rs 1,475. A heated bubble spa costs Rs 2,099 to Rs 2,399. Models with motor rollers and a timer cost Rs 4,699 to Rs 5,249.
Digital heat control is not a premium extra any more. The Rs 2,099 Lifelong LLM306 has a digital panel and a 35 to 48°C setting. The imported Sunbeam deep-basin spa costs Rs 13,777. For home use, a mid-range heated spa is the sweet spot. It gives heat and a timer without a salon price.
Value tip: a timer and a temperature setting matter more than fancy modes. They keep the soak safe and save power. The LLM306 is rated 500 W, so a 20-minute soak uses at most about 0.17 units of power.
পেডিকিউর করতে কত টাকা লাগে? (How much does a pedicure cost?)
A salon pedicure at home from Urban Company in Delhi NCR cost Rs 759 to Rs 1,319 on 27 September 2026. The crystal rose pedicure starts at Rs 759, and the candle spa pedicure is Rs 1,319 — Urban Company. Prices change by city and salon.
A home foot spa costs Rs 2,099 or more, once. But it only does the soak. A salon pedicure also does the scrub, nail care and a short massage.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often can I use a foot spa?
Two or three times a week is a common routine. Short soaks are fine for healthy feet. Always dry your feet well after each soak, and empty and dry the tub too.
What water temperature is safe for a foot spa?
Keep the water warm, not hot. Most foot spas let you set 35 to 48°C, and you do not need the top setting. Warm-bath sleep studies used 40 to 42.5°C. With diabetes, the NIDDK says 32 to 35°C is safe. Test it with your hand or elbow first.
Can a foot spa help cracked heels?
A warm soak softens hard skin on heels. That makes it easier to scrub gently and add cream. It helps care, but it is not a cure.
Is a foot spa safe during pregnancy?
Ask your doctor first. For swollen feet in pregnancy, the NHS suggests resting with your feet up, comfy shoes and foot exercises. If you do soak, keep the water mild, not hot. A sudden increase in swelling in your face, hands or feet can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, so call your doctor or midwife at once.
Should diabetics use a foot spa?
Only with care and a doctor's okay. Numb feet may not feel hot water or a cut. Keep soaks short, water mild, and check your skin after. The CDC and NIDDK both advise people with diabetes not to soak their feet.
What is the difference between a foot spa and a foot massager?
A foot spa holds warm water for soaking. A foot massager is dry and kneads or rolls your feet with no water. Pick a spa to soak and soften skin. Pick a massager for sore muscles.
