InstaCuppa Manual Coffee Grinder: Three Models, One Honest Review

The InstaCuppa InstaGrind series includes three manual coffee grinders: the Classic (18 settings, Rs 999), the Pro (40 settings, Rs 1,299), and the Pro Plus (55 settings, Rs 3,199). As the founder, I am writing this review because nobody else has tested all three side by side - and I want to be honest about where each shines and where each falls short.

InstaGrind Classic Review: Rs 999

The Classic is the most affordable ceramic burr grinder in India. At Rs 999, it delivers surprisingly good grind consistency for filter coffee and French press. The 18 settings cover coarse through medium-fine adequately. Where it falls short: internal adjustment is inconvenient if you switch brew methods daily, and the espresso range is limited.

Pros: Cheapest burr grinder in India, lightest at 250g, good for single-method users, ceramic burr preserves flavor
Cons: Internal adjustment only, 18 settings limits fine-tuning, not suitable for espresso, no glass jar
Best for: Filter coffee, French press, cold brew, first-time grinder buyers

InstaGrind Pro Review: Rs 1,299

The Pro is our best-seller for good reason. The external twist ring makes changing grind size effortless - twist left for finer, right for coarser, done in 2 seconds. 40 settings give you enough precision for every brew method from moka pot to cold brew. The glass jar is a nice touch for seeing your ground coffee. At Rs 1,299, it is Rs 300 more than the Classic but substantially more versatile.

Pros: External adjustment (huge upgrade), 40 settings, glass jar, best value manual grinder in India
Cons: Still ceramic burr (average espresso), heavier than Classic at 325g
Best for: Multi-method households, daily use, value-conscious buyers

InstaGrind Pro Plus Review: Rs 3,199

The Pro Plus is a different animal. The 402-grade stainless steel burr grinds noticeably faster and produces tighter particle distribution at fine settings. 55 grind settings with dual adjustment (external macro + internal micro) give you espresso-level precision. At 508g it is the heaviest, but the aluminium alloy body feels premium.

Cons: Rs 3,199 (2.5x the Pro), heaviest at 508g, steel burrs cannot be washed with water
Best for: Espresso enthusiasts, AeroPress/Picopresso users, speed-focused grinders
