Best Roti Maker in India 2026: The Quick Answer

Quick answer: The best roti maker in India for most homes is a 900 to 1000 W press with an 8.5 inch plate and a written 1-year warranty. Best value on 17 September 2026 is the Longway Multi Master 1000 W at Rs 1,999. Best big-brand pick is the Prestige PRM 3.0 at Rs 2,580. Best-rated right now is the ISILER 950 W at Rs 2,792, but it has only 252 ratings so far.

Looking for the best roti maker in India? The listings all promise soft, puffed rotis in seconds. The star ratings tell a harder story. This guide compares 7 electric roti makers sold on Amazon.in. We look at price, plate size, wattage, warranty and what buyers actually rated them.

Updated 17 September 2026: every price, star rating, rating count and 1-star share below was re-read on Amazon.in on this date. We also removed an old table that leaned on blog roundups. Every pick now links to its real listing.

How we compared (and what we did not do): We did not run a lab test on all seven machines. We read each listing, its spec sheet and its rating breakdown. Where a brand has its own product page, we checked that too. Prices move with sales, so treat them as a guide.

Why this matters in an Indian home: Wheat is a daily staple here. Each person ate about 60 kg of wheat a year in 2019. That wheat gave around 515 calories and 23 out of every 100 grams of daily protein - PMC, wheat demand study. Government survey data shows the same. A rural Indian eats about 3.9 kg of wheat a month. In Haryana and Punjab, wheat is nearly 9 in 10 of all cereal eaten - MOSPI HCES 2022-23. A faster way to make roti saves time every single day.

Best Roti Maker Machine for Home: 7 Picks Compared

Prestige PRM 5.0 (granite plate) Rs 3,995 900 W Not stated 1 year 1.0 (4) 100%

Prices, ratings and 1-star shares re-read on Amazon.in on 17 September 2026; plate, wattage and warranty specs read 11 September 2026. The rating count is in brackets. "1-star share" is the share of that listing's reviews at 1 star, as shown in its rating breakdown on that date. We did not measure any of these units ourselves.

The 7 Roti Makers, One by One

Quick answer: Big brands (Prestige, Bajaj, Libra) sit near 3 stars with about one in three reviews at 1 star. The two new 950 W units rate higher but have very few reviews yet. Read each pick with that in mind.

1. Longway Multi Master 1000 W - best value

The Longway Multi Master is the cheapest pick at Rs 1,999. It has the most power here at 1000 W and a full 8.5 inch plate. The listing sells it as a roti, paratha, dosa and chilla maker.

It weighs 2.3 kg, the heaviest of the seven. That usually means a thicker plate. The listing does not state a warranty term. Its rating is 3.3 from 813 reviews, and about 31 in 100 gave it 1 star.

2. Bajaj Vacco Go-Ezzee C-02 - most reviewed

The Bajaj Vacco Go-Ezzee has been around for years. It has 6,796 ratings, by far the most here. It runs at 900 W with an 8 inch plate and weighs 1.5 kg.

The listing says it also makes khakhra. The box has a warranty card, but the listing does not state the term. The rating is 3.1, with 32 in 100 at 5 stars and 29 in 100 at 1 star. Buyers are split down the middle.

3. Prestige PRM 3.0 - best big-brand service network

The Prestige PRM 3.0 is the classic 900 W roti maker at Rs 2,580. The listing states an 8 inch base and a 1-year warranty on the product. It weighs 1.82 kg.

Prestige has service centres across India, which matters for a hinge or plate issue. The rating is 2.9 from 1,297 reviews. About 36 in 100 gave it 1 star. Read the recent reviews before you buy.

4. ElectroSky 950 W - newest listing

The ElectroSky Roti Maker costs Rs 2,792. It has a 950 W element, an 8.5 inch plate, a cool-touch handle and a 1-year warranty. It weighs 2.05 kg.

It rates 4.5, but from only 55 ratings. That is too few to trust yet. On 17 September 2026 it costs the same Rs 2,792 as the ISILER below. Its bullet text is word-for-word the same as the ISILER below, and both weigh exactly 2.05 kg. They are very likely the same factory unit under two labels.

5. ISILER 950 W - best rated with a real sample

The ISILER Roti Maker is Rs 2,792. Same 950 W, same 8.5 inch plate, same cool-touch handle and 1-year warranty as the ElectroSky. It comes with a recipe booklet.

It rates 4.3 from 252 ratings, with 72 in 100 at 5 stars and 10 in 100 at 1 star. That is the best spread on this list. The brand is new, so service reach is unknown. Keep the invoice and register the warranty. Note: the listing showed only one unit left in stock on 11 September 2026, so stock may run out.

6. Libra 950 W - big plate, mixed reviews

The Libra Roti Maker is Rs 2,898. It has a 950 W element, an 8.5 inch plate and indicator lights. The listing says auto temperature control. It weighs 1.5 kg.

The listing does not state a warranty term. The rating is 3.0 from 2,120 ratings. It splits evenly: 35 in 100 at 5 stars, 36 in 100 at 1 star. Same story as the other old brands.

7. Prestige PRM 5.0 - the new granite plate

The Prestige PRM 5.0 is the 2026 update. It has a curved granite non-stick plate and a power indicator. Prestige's own site lists it at 900 W with a 1-year warranty - TTK Prestige.

It costs Rs 3,995 on Amazon.in. The Prestige site shows Rs 3,195 but was out of stock on 11 September 2026. The Amazon listing has its first 4 ratings on 17 September 2026 and all four are 1 star, so it shows 1.0 out of 5. Four ratings is far too small a sample to judge a machine. Wait for a real review count unless you want the granite plate now.

Which Roti Maker Is Best for Home Use?

Quick answer: Pick by plate size, warranty and rating count first. Wattage matters least. Every unit here is 900 to 1000 W, so heat is not what separates them.

Plate size: An 8.5 inch plate fits a normal roti. An 8 inch plate needs a smaller dough ball. Roll the dough to about 18 cm for an 8 inch plate and 20 cm for an 8.5 inch plate.

Warranty in writing: Only four of the seven listings state a warranty term. A hinge or a peeling plate is the common fault. Buy the one that promises a fix in writing.

Rating count, not just stars: A 4.5 from 55 ratings means little. A 3.0 from 2,000 reviews tells you the product divides people. Read the 1-star reviews. If they all say the same thing, believe them.

Wattage: 900 to 1000 W is the whole range here. More watts heat up faster. It does not make a better roti. Even heat and a flat plate matter more.

Hinge and handle: A loose hinge presses one side harder. That gives a roti cooked on one edge and raw on the other. A cool-touch handle is safer around children.

Your dough: Roti makers need softer dough than a tawa. Knead it wetter and rest it longer. If you hate kneading, an atta kneader machine pairs well with a roti maker.

Which Roti Maker Brand Is Best in India?

Quick answer: Prestige is the best brand for after-sales service. Bajaj Vacco has the longest track record. No brand here has a rating above 3.3 with a large review base, so pick by warranty and plate, not by logo.

Prestige has the widest service network. Both its roti makers state a 1-year warranty. Its PRM 3.0 rates 2.9, which is low for a brand this big.

Bajaj Vacco is the most-bought unit on this list. Note that Bajaj Vacco is a separate company from Bajaj Electricals. Its listing shows the maker as Bajaj Brothers (India).

Libra, Longway, ISILER and ElectroSky are smaller brands. They give you a bigger 8.5 inch plate for the money. Service reach is thinner. Buy from Amazon so returns are easy in the first 10 days.

Is a Chapati Maker the Same as a Roti Maker?

Quick answer: Yes. In India a chapati maker and a roti maker are the same press-and-cook machine. Amazon.in even sells one unit under both words: the Bajaj Vacco Go-Ezzee C-02 is listed as an "Electric Go-Ezzee Chapati/Roti/Khakhra Maker". So if you searched for the best chapati maker, the seven picks above are your shortlist.

Pick by plate size, because that is what decides how big a chapati you can press. An 8.5 inch plate takes a chapati rolled to about 20 cm. An 8 inch plate takes one rolled to about 18 cm.

Cheapest chapati maker: the Longway Multi Master 1000 W at Rs 1,999 on 17 September 2026, with the bigger 8.5 inch plate.

Most reviewed chapati maker: the Bajaj Vacco C-02 at Rs 2,435, with 6,800 ratings. Its plate is the smaller 8 inch one, so roll thinner.

Best rated chapati maker: the ISILER 950 W at Rs 2,792, rated 4.3 from 252 ratings.

The same machine also presses khakhra, puri and small tortillas. It will not knead your dough. For that you need a separate atta kneader.

Is an Electric Roti Maker Better Than a Tawa?

Quick answer: An electric roti maker presses and cooks in one step. A tawa gives full control and a better puff, but needs practice. For plain daily phulka in a hurry, the press wins. For soft, puffed roti, the tawa still wins.

With a roti maker, you still roll the dough. Then you press it between two hot plates. The roti cooks in about a minute. There is no flame to watch and no arm strain from rolling thin.

A tawa needs timing. You flip at the right moment and puff it on the flame. New cooks find this hard. A good cast iron or non-stick tawa costs Rs 300 to Rs 800, so it is the cheaper route too.

Running cost: A 900 W roti maker used for 20 minutes uses about 0.3 unit of power. At Rs 6 to Rs 8 a unit, that is Rs 2 to Rs 3 a day. This is simple arithmetic from the wattage, not a tested figure.

Middle path: An electric tawa gives you a plug-in flat plate with a heat knob. You roll and flip as usual, but with no gas. See our electric tawa picks. Our own InstaCuppa Electric Tawa is sold out right now, so we have not linked it.

What Are the Pros and Cons of a Roti Maker?

Quick answer: The big win is speed and no rolling strain. The big gripes are rotis that do not puff, dough that sticks, and hinges that press unevenly. The near-even split of 5-star and 1-star reviews on the old brands says both sides are right.

Pros: Fast plain rotis. No tired arms. Safer than an open flame for kids and elders. Also presses khakhra, papad and thin paratha on most units.

Cons: Rotis come out flatter than tawa rotis. The dough must be softer than you are used to. Non-stick coatings wear with steel spatulas. A loose hinge cooks one side more.

The pattern across every big-brand listing is the same. Buyers who adjusted their dough love it. Buyers who expected tawa rotis on day one hated it. Give it a week of softer dough before you judge.

Roti makers also handle millet doughs well, since the press does the shaping. Try our no-crack millet roti method or a soft jowar roti.

Fully Automatic Roti Makers: Worth It?

Quick answer: A fully automatic roti maker kneads, presses and cooks on its own. In India the known option is Wonderchef's Roti Magic 2.0, listed at Rs 9,999 with pre-booking open. Wonderchef publishes no wattage or roti-count specs for it, so treat it as unproven.

Every unit in our table is a press. You roll, it cooks. A fully automatic machine does the whole job from flour and water. That is a different price class.

Wonderchef's Roti Magic 2.0 page showed limited pre-booking at Rs 9,999 on 11 September 2026. The page gives no wattage, capacity or roti count, so we make no claims about how it performs. The earlier Roti Magic product page has been taken down, so we no longer quote its price here.

Our take: wait for real reviews. A Rs 2,000 press plus a good atta kneader covers most homes for a fraction of the cost.

Where Can You Buy a Roti Maker in India?

Quick answer: Buy on Amazon.in so you get the 10-day return window and can compare the rating breakdown. Check the plate size and the warranty line before you tap buy.

All seven picks above link to their Amazon.in listings. Sort by recent reviews first. Look for repeated complaints about the hinge or the coating.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is the best roti maker in India in 2026?

For most homes, a 900 to 1000 W press with an 8.5 inch plate and a stated 1-year warranty. On 17 September 2026 the best value was the Longway Multi Master 1000 W at Rs 1,999. The best big-brand pick was the Prestige PRM 3.0 at Rs 2,580. The best-rated unit with a real sample was the ISILER 950 W at Rs 2,792, from 252 ratings.

Which is the best chapati maker in India?

A chapati maker is the same machine as a roti maker, so the same shortlist applies. On 17 September 2026 the Longway Multi Master 1000 W at Rs 1,999 is the cheapest with an 8.5 inch plate, the Bajaj Vacco Go-Ezzee C-02 at Rs 2,435 has the most ratings at 6,800, and the ISILER 950 W at Rs 2,792 has the best star spread at 4.3 from 252 ratings.

Which roti maker has the best build quality?

No listing here publishes a build-quality spec, so judge it by the 1-star share. On 17 September 2026 the ISILER and the ElectroSky sit at 10 per cent 1-star, while Longway is 30 per cent, Bajaj Vacco 29 per cent, Prestige PRM 3.0 36 per cent and Libra 36 per cent. The two low-1-star units are new listings with small samples, so also buy the one with a written 1-year warranty.

Which is the best roti maker machine for home use?

A press-type electric roti maker with an 8.5 inch plate suits daily home use. Longway, Libra, ISILER and ElectroSky all offer that size. Pick the one with a written warranty and the most reviews you can check.

Which roti maker brand is best in India?

Prestige has the widest service network and states a 1-year warranty on both its models. Bajaj Vacco has the most reviews. No big brand rates above 3.1 stars on Amazon.in right now, so choose by warranty and plate size.

How much does a roti maker cost in India?

The seven picks here run from Rs 1,999 to Rs 3,995 on Amazon.in as of 17 September 2026. Most good press-type units sit between Rs 2,400 and Rs 2,900. Fully automatic machines are a separate class and cost far more.

What wattage is best for a roti maker?

Every common roti maker in India runs at 900 to 1000 W. Higher watts heat faster but do not make a better roti. Plate size, a flat plate and a firm hinge matter more.

What plate size should a roti maker have?

An 8.5 inch plate fits a normal roti rolled to about 20 cm. An 8 inch plate needs a roti of about 18 cm. Five of the seven picks here have 8.5 inch plates.

Do rotis puff in an electric roti maker?

Not the way they do on a tawa. A roti maker presses and cooks in one step, so rotis come out flatter and softer. Softer dough, rolled thin, gets the best result. Buyers who expected a tawa puff on day one are the ones who leave 1-star reviews.

Is an electric roti maker better than a tawa?

It depends on you. A roti maker is faster and needs less skill. A tawa costs Rs 300 to Rs 800, gives full control and puffs a phulka well, but takes practice. For plain daily roti in a hurry, the press wins.

Is a fully automatic roti maker available in India?

Yes. Wonderchef's Roti Magic 2.0 is listed at Rs 9,999 with limited pre-booking open as of 11 September 2026. Wonderchef publishes no wattage or roti-count specs for it, and the earlier Roti Magic page has been taken down.
